ABOUT THE RFVHC
Pitkin County Open Space & Trails Board members & the City of Aspen and the Town of Snowmass Village have identified the Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council (RFVHC) as the entity that they will work with, regarding horse related issues, such as Cozy Point Equestrian Center, Snowmass Rodeo and Glassier Open Space Management Plans. Let us know your wishes for future horse related issues. RFVHC is a non-profit organization, established in 2003, having roots originating in the Aspen Riding Club of 1954.
We are the unified voice of the equestrian community with a responsibility to protect and preserve our Western Heritage by “keeping horses on trails”, insuring parking for trucks and horse trailers and promoting safety education for all multi-use trail partners. The RFVHC promotes charitable involvement in equine related experiences and activities, educating the public on equestrian issues, providing connections and resources for the equine community, and supporting the overall well- being of horses and horsemanship.
WHERE DOES YOUR DONATION MONEY GO ?- We support other non–profits and help create these horse related events, we do research and we develop documentation of trails, truck & trailer parking for public and private projects. We host and maintain a member’s web site with contacts and communication for our local horse industry and a Face Book page with on-going information for education. We also use your membership and donation dollars to pay for office supplies, printing costs, promotional campaigns for education, safety and community awareness that preserve our Western Heritage. We provide many open member meetings and enjoyable events, which require basic costs to produce.
Click on the SILVER GUIDESTAR below to learn more about the RFVHC and our programs and transparency.
We attend local government meetings to be the voice for the equestrian community. We interface and collaborate with private, non-profits, and government land managers to secure and sustain an equestrian presence on our landscape. Wildlife habitat conservation sustains the lands we ride across. Our non-profit partners and governmental entities help us complete the circle for sustainable recreation.
BECOME A MEMBER AND DONATE – We thank you all for your support and recognize all our members, from yearly memberships fees of $45.00 to $500.00 for the long term wonderful, lifetime members that have recognized the importance of sustaining this non-profit organization.
