MISSION

The mission of the RFVHC is to provide a unified voice for equine related interests by working to preserve access to trails, promoting charitable involvement in equine related experiences and activities, educating the public on equestrian issues, providing connections and resources for the equine community, and supporting the overall well‐being of horses and horsemanship.
What Does the RFVHC Do?
The Roaring Fork Valley Horse Council (RFVHC) is the unified voice of the equestrian community
-
We work with government agencies to create and maintain horse- and hiker-only trails, ensuring peaceful and enjoyable access for all.
-
We advocate for seasonal trail closures to protect wildlife in critical habitats—like at Sutey Ranch and Prince Creek Road, which provide access to the 9,100-acre Crown area.
-
We preserve equestrian access by promoting parking solutions for trucks and horse trailers.
-
We educate the public on equestrian safety and trail etiquette, supporting respectful multi-use trail partnerships.
-
We promote charitable involvement in equine-related experiences, support the well-being of horses and horsemanship, and connect the equine community through resources and outreach.
