Clinic Format:
Saturday – Dressage, Show Jumping
Sunday – Dressage, Show Jumping, Cross-Country (weather permitting)
Cross-country: If you are interested in cross-country but have never tried it before we can have an “Introduction to Cross-Country” lesson taught by Laura. This may be attended on foot or by walking horseback on the cross-country course. The course will include safety, equipment necessary, rider’s and horse’s skills requirements, an introduction to different obstacles and how they are ridden properly, and a ridden demonstration.
We are offering private lessons of 45 minutes and small group lessons of 1 ½ hour with students of similar abilities to foster learning together and from each other.
For pony club members emphasis will be on building confidence and skills based on the pony club standards, and practicing; safe horsemanship and expressing your knowledge verbally.
Laura asks and we strongly concur that a dressage lesson be completed before a jumping lesson for safety and proper preparation.
Attire: Please come clean, on time, and in pony club workman like turnout. This demonstrates respect for your instructor and yourself. ATSM approved helmet and safe boots required, cross-country safety vest strongly advised.
Cost of the Clinic: Please note Laura Backus is offering a significant discount for her clinic to us. The RFHPC needs to cover the cost of this clinic so please follow through on your commitment.
$ 30.00 Pony Club member per group lesson, (1 ½ hour)
