To all RFVHC members:
Dear Carol,
Pitkin County Open Space and Trails is soliciting the help of the RFVHC to inform the equestrian community that the Glassier Open Space is closed to all recreational use at this time. That includes the existing trail through the Glassier Open Space property that leads to the Crown Mountain access road which will open May 15th. Although the BLM's Crown Mountain recreation area opens April 15th, recreational users can not exit Crown Mountain through Glassier until May 15th.
OST is asking all equestrians to honor the fact that the parking process has not started and to respect the agricultural lessees activities that are starting around the homesite area. The homesite area is not open to public use. A river access trail will be signed and then opened in the summer and that will be the only public access on the homesite until the horse trailer parking process is completed. Over the past week our staff has seen evidence of equestrian activity which includes riding through the Glassier's homesite area. OST rangers will be monitoring the area and enforcing.
For the complete Glassier Open Space Management Plan please go to pitkinostprojects.com and it is located under Glassier Open Space
