Taylor van Zyl “First you go with the horse, then the horse goes with you, then you go together.”-Tom Dorrance I have a lifelong passion for horses as well as a diverse background in English and Western riding. I grew up riding hunter/jumpers at Cozy Point Ranch, in the valley and showing around the country. I was a member of the Roaring Fork Hounds Pony Club for several years before switching to western and venturing into the world of rodeo. Currently I own VZ Performance Horses and ride and train horses in the Roaring Fork Valley six months out of the year and spend the other six months in Arizona. My resume also includes my own carriage company called Pair A Dice Carriages where I offer my services for private events, weddings, parades, and tours in the valley. My interest in joining the board stems from my love of the equine industry and the western way of life. I believe preserving and promoting the horse population in the valley is of utmost importance in the continuation of the horse as we know him as well as his history side by side with humans. Because I split my time in the arena and out on the trails, seeing the trails stay horse friendly in the valley is priority to me. In becoming a RFVHC Board member, I'd like to be an advocate for the horse owner/adventurer population of the valley and push for our equestrian voice. I'd also like to be able to offer our fellow horse enthusiasts advice and recommendations on horse friendly trails, overall safety, trail condition statuses and anything else related to enjoying the outdoors with their equine partners. |
